We are excited to announce that the scientific publication titled “BATSCAN: the Coming of Age of a New Tool for Inclusion Detection in Liquid Aluminium“, created in collaboration between Constellium and STAS, won the “Best Casthouse Operation Paper Award” at the ICSOBA Forum, held in Lyon, France, from October 28th to 30th. This prestigious award highlights not only the innovation and excellence of our collaboration but also the revolutionary potential of this new technology.
The BATSCAN® technology, developed to improve inclusion detection in liquid metals, marks a significant breakthrough in the industry. Thanks to the synergy between Constellium, a global leader in the aluminum sector, and STAS, a specialist in aluminum processing equipment, this technology has the potential to transform production processes by offering more accurate and efficient inclusion detection, thereby enhancing the quality of end products and optimizing plant performance.
We would like to extend our special congratulations to all the co-authors of this publication, without whom this success would not have been possible: Jean-Louis Achard, Pierre Le Brun, Pierre-Yves Menet, and Marc Bertherat (Constellium), as well as Nicolas Bauret and Vincent Milani (STAS). Their hard work, expertise, and unwavering commitment were essential to the success of this project. This award is not only a recognition of the technology but also of the spirit of collaboration that unites our teams.
